Azuk-Thule

In the Hilly area North East of Aachen is the cave entrance to the Neanderthal city of Azuk-Thule. Relatively close to the surface world, this human settlement trades with and has good relations with Aachen. In Azuk-thule’s market can be found riches and crafts from all of the underground races and their local settlements as well as some Stanger artefacts. In truth, many local Saurians consider Azuk-Thule to be a city of under-dweller humans, Asura and Darque all living together as it acts as the bottleneck settlement for a vast underdark kingdom.

Beyond Azuk-Thule is a cavern which leads to an open Volcanic vent considered sacred to all the underground cultures and tended by the Neanderthal. The various cultures such as the Darques and the Asura travel up from deeper below the earth to worship here and the cyclopean carvings and structures of the cavern can take the breath of the most world weary traveller clean away.

Beyond this sacred sight are tunnels which lead to Asura outposts and the Darque settlement of Zeamthuld. Although rather small for a Darque settlement (a population of less than 200) it is famous for having a much closer relationship with nearby humans than its larger counterparts. Zeamthuld trades with Aacehn and other Rhineland cities via it’s Neanderthal allies and Zeamthuld fungi is a delacy throughout the region.
